QoE alerts tab¶
This section lists fault notifications and allows you to create notification lists for various faults. Alerts may be triggered on:
Black screen
Static screen
No video
Audio level
Closed captioning
Search¶
The “Search” field works like it does in other Volicon Media Intelligence service applications. You are able to search by keyword, alert type, time, email recipients and channel.
Alert controls¶
The ribbon at the top of the page gives you control over the <Alert> feature and treats a fault condition and who is notified. The <Enable> and <Disable> buttons allow you to selectively enable or disable each alert. Lastly, the <Customize> button controls which alert fields are displayed. Use the dropdown to select which alert columns you want Volicon Media Intelligence service to display.
Create a QoE alert¶
Pressing the <Add> button opens a new page composed of three sections. The left-hand pane allows you to set which email addresses Volicon Media Intelligence service uses to send out the alert and to define the alert name and email subject line. The default email address is that of the user account creating the alert. Below that are options to limit how often and when to send the alert.
The middle pane consists of checkboxes to select the fault conditions that generate the alert. The checkboxes are organized so you are able to select a generic fault (e.g., video) or a specific fault within a video (e.g., black screen).
Lastly, the right-hand pane allows you to select the channel or channels you want to monitor. Typing all or part of the channel name into the “Filter” text box at the top of the display list restricts the display of matching channels.

Once you have created the alert, press the <Save changes> button at the bottom of the page. Press the <Test delivery> icon to send a test email to insure the alert was configured properly
Editing an alert¶
To edit an alert, hover over the alert. Volicon Media Intelligence service will display the <Edit> 
icon on the right-hand side of the alert. Pressing the icon opens the same page you used to create the alert, except now it is filled in. Press <Save changes> when you are finished editing the alert.
