Closed captioning

You can turn closed captioning on or off for individual streams by using the <CC> button in the lower-left portion of the “Viewer” window. If the stream is not configured for closed captioning, the <CC> button is greyed out.

The default closed captioning setting (on or off) can be set from the “Preferences” section of the Volicon Media Intelligence service toolbar. This is explained in the “Tools” section of this manual.

Volicon Media Intelligence service always captures the CC data if the admin has configured it to do so, which allows you to go to any point in time and view it. When Volicon Media Intelligence service displays the CC text, it conforms to the SMPTE profile of W3C Timed Text Markup Language (TTML), which preserves the position, transparency, font, color and timing.
